I only have one hydration puch as well. I primarily use my yak for bass fishing and have generally kept it dry inside but water does collect between the side wall and the floor. I found deflating it and running a towel along the seam has kept it in pretty good shape. I have not had the problem with the velcro strip either but I usually go in before the sun is too high.
The bottom is pretty tough but I did make the mistake of sliding on small rocks with all my weight on it causing a very small scratch but no big deal.
Not sure about my paddle but I for it at Dicks sporting goods for about 50.00
My favorite thing about this kayak is how high the back support is, it restricts paddling slightly but if you are fishing for a few hours it is a great feature.
It's a little tight on legroom but with all the storage options this works great for lazy fishin'!

I too am a fastback owner i got one hydration blader with mine the bladder is a standerd one used in rucksacks for walkers most big camping shops should be able to get you one.
I too found the kayak takes some drying out i separate the inner gray tubes from the outer blue nylon cover just detach the foot rest and then dry sepratley or you could store the kayak half
inflated in the garage this will allow moisture to evaporate of the tubes and the nylon cover
hope this helps regards

Excellent review. I have been using my Fastback for about 6 weeks now.
How many drinking bladders came with yours? Mine had 1 but I see two compartments for it. Where would you buy a 2nd one?
On that water resistant clear pouch over your right leg, the velcro has already starting to peel off. How about yours? Perhaps its the hot Texas sun when I'm out using it (store in in garage).
What paddle do you use? I got a Tipper from Cabelas.
