Inflatable Kayak Trips by Outfitters
Using an outfitter is a great option for an inflatable kayak trip. Outfitters provide the gear, local information and various levels of add-on services. Depending on the river or body of water, you can go on a guide-assisted trip or rent the equipment and go on your own.
Outfitters are particularly great for the following situations...
1. You are new to the sport. It's a great way to try it out in a safe and professional environment.
2. You want to try a new boat.
3. You want to try bigger water than you are comfortable doing alone. Outfitters are usually the experts on the water on which they operate.
Tell us about an inflatable kayak trip by an outfitter and will include it in this list, if possible...
This list is starting small and will grow over time. It is certainly not all inclusive.

North Carolina Mountains
Here are three whitewater rivers in the North Carolina that outfitters offer inflatable kayak trips....
The Tuckaseigee River - A great beginner whitewater river. It's warm waters and forgiving rapids make it great for an inflatable kayak trip.
The Nantahala River - The "Nanny" is one of the most popular rivers in the southeastern U.S. It's clear cool waters have beenn popular for years. Water on the Nantahala is pulled from the bottom of a lake for power generation. This makes the water around 50 degrees year around.
The French Broad River - The French Broad River is a free flowing river. At higher water levels, outfitters use mostly rafts. At lower water levels, they use both rafts and inflatable kayaks. The French Broad River is big enough that even in low water years it's a fun inflatable kayak trip in the summer.
There are other rivers in the North Carolina Mountains that outfitters sometimes run with inflatable kayaks. These include the Green River and Pigeon River.
