Recreational Inflatable Kayak

Recreational inflatable kayaks are fun, versatile, and inexpensive; but limited to "easy" water, shorter trips, and close to shore boating.

The term "recreational" is a catchall for inflatable boats that were not designed for whitewater, touring, or sea kayaking. "Recreational" boats are not specialty boats.

"Recreational" boats are popular and work well for casual users in easy water.

If you try to do too much with them, you can get into trouble.

Some of the manufacturers of "recreational" boats are Sevylor, Coleman, & Stearns. Not all of their boats are "recreational," but most of them are.

Used properly and within their limitations, recreational IKs give you great fun at a great price. Just don't push them beyond their limitations.

Many "recreational" inflatable kayaks make iks for specific purposes such as whitewater or touring.
